With budget cuts, come reality. The Sarasota High School football coaches, like many around the suncoast and the country, have to pick up the slack. Things like washing the team uniforms at a laundromat, or buying snacks for those who can’t afford them, now fall to the coaches.
Sailors head football coach. Brian Ryals says, “You want to take the young person in the program and give him a well-rounded experience. How can we give him everything he needs to succeed. Not only on the field, but alos off the field.”
Football brings in the most money ordinarily, but it also is the most costly. Include those pesky budget cuts, few wins on the field, and growing competition for the entertainment dollar and that leaves head coach Brian Ryals and his staff trying to make ends meet.
