Josh Booker exploded for 268 yards and four touchdowns to lift the visiting Sarasota Sailors to their first victory of the season Friday night.
The Sailors (1-1) used Booker’s sterling performance and a turnover-hungry defense to crush the Booker Tornadoes, 38-6, in a game that was played in intermittent downpours that began midway through the first quarter and continued throughout the game.
The 195-pound sophomore running back made his presence felt on his very first carry of the game, when he ran over defenders and then outran the Tornadoes for a 67-yard touchdown run with 9:32 still remaining in the first quarter.
